I'm Sarath Chandran Maimpilly
Electrical Engineer
My background is in electrical engineering, and I've had the chance to dive into some exciting projects in the automotive and automation domains, from validating EV wireless charging systems and building deep learning loops for automated driving, to developing BLE/UWB-based vehicle access systems.
Recently, I made a leap from cars to particle accelerators. At DESY, I'm building the software that controls magnetron sputtering machines, the tools that create multilayer Laue lenses, one atomic layer at a time. Different domain, same thrill: making hardware and code work together.
Outside of engineering, I've taken on leadership roles with IEEE and IAESTE that shaped how I communicate and collaborate just as much as any technical project did. I also love volunteering, which helped a lot in connecting with the society around me.
Currently nerding out over scientific Python tooling and synchrotron control systems :)
